Attention any newcomers, and people that might not be sure. You do not have to be a member of the mailing list to attend meetings, you may also bring a friend if they use or are interested in Linux. Being a member of the mailing list is convenient to keep up to date, you are also free to ask the list for help on anything you may be struggling with. This is free, will always be free. So there is nothing stopping you from joining the list, if you haven't already, or from coming to our next meet.

ELUG Classifieds - SMALLS
We have started an ELUG Classifieds/Smalls section where members or anyone really can offer and trade goods 1 on 1. There is no commercial involvment from ELUG, neither will there be. Please check it out.

Software Freedom Day 15 September 2007
We will be holding an event at the Atlas Mall in Atlasville Boksburg (directions). This is in conjunction with worldwide events marking this day. Please see Software Freedom Day Website for more information on this day. It should get going by 09h00 though volunteers will be setting up from about 08h00. We will be handing out leaflets and free opensource cd's for different operating systems. We will be doing GNU/Linux installations for interested parties as well. There are no invitations or requirements, just pitch with your box, (PLEASE BACKUP BEFOREHAND - also please do a full defragment on your hdd if you would like the drive repartitioned to include multiple Operating Systems). We will also have a limited amout of linux/gnu software cd's to hand out as well. More/other distro's could be ordered for collect from ELUG members after the event. We will have different volunteers available at the stand to answer (or try to answer) any questions/problems you may have. Copies of these leaftlet here [will post link shortly]

Well glug won, even with their single supporter. A big thank you to the people that made the effort to come from the lugs. It was nice. Some blurry Nokia photo's of Stefan and Heinz.
